*Position Summary*

UCI Health is seeking an experienced and dedicated *Infection Prevention Registered Nurse* to support the Infection Control unit. This role is designed for a nurse with a strong understanding of infection prevention practices, data reporting via NHSN, and effective collaboration with healthcare teams to reduce and manage infection risks. Ideal for RNs who are detail-oriented and passionate about patient safety and public health.

*Schedule & Hours*
* *Shift:* Day Shift
* *Hours:* 3 days per week (2 full days: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 1 half-day)
* *Weekly Hours Guaranteed:* 24 hours/week
* *Work Days:* Monday - Friday (flexibility with which days are worked)
* *Block Scheduling:* Not offered

*Responsibilities*
* Conduct regular surveillance and data collection on infection rates and trends within the facility.
* Implement and monitor infection prevention protocols in accordance with established guidelines.
* Educate staff and patients on infection control practices and the importance of compliance.
* Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop strategies for managing infectious diseases.
* Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to infection control activities.
* Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations in all infection prevention efforts.

*Compensation Package*
* *Minimum W2 Weekly Gross (Taxable):* $432.00 (Weekly 24 Hours)
* *Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable):* $1,608.00 (Weekly 24 Hours)
* *Total Blended Weekly Gross Pay Rate:* *$2,040.00 *(Weekly 24 Hours)

*Required Qualifications*
* *Active Registered Nurse license in California*
* *BLS Certification - American Heart Association*
* *Minimum 1 year of recent Infection Prevention experience*
* *NHSN (National Healthcare Safety Network) knowledge & access*
* *Demonstrated ability to recognize symptoms of communicable diseases and apply correct transmission precautions*
* *Open to first-time travelers*

*Preferred Qualifications*
* *CIC Credential (Certification in Infection Control)*

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: Up to $2,000.00 per week

Expected hours: 20 - 24 per week
